Olswell Cannabis Co., operated by Hemlock Ventures LLC, is committed to making olswell.com and our four Michigan stores accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We treat accessibility as part of doing this right, not an afterthought.
Our Standard: WCAG 2.2 AA
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard widely referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act. These guidelines explain how to make web content more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with a wide range of disabilities.
What We Build For
We design and test olswell.com with the following in mind:
- Color contrast. Body text and interface controls are designed to meet AA contrast ratios so they stay legible against our bright backgrounds.
- Keyboard access. Pages can be navigated with a keyboard, and interactive elements show a visible focus outline.
- Screen readers. We use semantic headings, descriptive link text, alternative text on meaningful images, and ARIA labels where helpful.
- Tap targets. Buttons and links are sized for comfortable use on touch devices.
Reduced Motion
Our site uses animation to add energy, but motion should never get in the way. We honor the operating system “reduce motion” setting (the prefers-reduced-motionpreference). When you turn that setting on, animated reveals, parallax, and any motion-heavy effects are reduced or removed, and content is shown in a static, fully readable form. You can enable it in your device's accessibility or display settings.
An Ongoing Effort
Accessibility is never finished. We review new and updated pages, components, and content against our standard, and we work to fix issues as we find them. Some third-party content we embed (such as our online menu and ordering platform) is maintained by other providers, and while we choose partners who take accessibility seriously, we may not fully control their experience.
