Reading a topical label

Check the cannabinoid content (THC, CBD or both), the ingredient list, the directions for how much to use and how often, and the size of the container. If you have sensitive skin, the ingredient list matters as much as the cannabinoid amount. The package label beats any page on the internet, including this one.

Applying one safely

Follow the directions on each package. As general good practice:

1. Test a small area of skin first, especially if your skin is sensitive.
2. Apply to clean, dry skin.
3. Keep topicals away from eyes and broken skin.
4. Wash your hands after applying.
5. Store topicals closed, away from heat, and out of reach of children and pets.
