Store Location & Northland Plaza

Northland Plaza is an established retail center that is easy to spot and easier to navigate. It reads clearly from the main road, the parking is ample, and the store is signed. You will not miss it.

The address is 102 Northland Plz, Kalkaska, MI 49646. Drop it into GPS or Dutchie's navigation and you are walked straight in. Customer spots sit right at the entrance, no hunting required.

Route 1: From Traverse City (25 Minutes)

This is the shortest run of any approach. From downtown Traverse City, point the car south on US-131. That is the whole instruction. US-131 south for 25 minutes and you are in Kalkaska.

The terrain along the way is classic Northern Michigan: rolling hills, forest, farmland. Easy driving, light traffic, no navigation to overthink. Follow US-131 south until Northland Plaza shows up on the right, the east side of the road.

Perfect for a TC visit you want to cap with a stop before heading back, or a quick local run down from town.

Route 2: From Suttons Bay (30 Minutes)

Suttons Bay sits on the Leelanau Peninsula, so you trade a few minutes for scenery. Head east toward M-22, let it curve toward M-37, take M-37 south, then pick up US-131 toward Kalkaska.

Or loop M-72 east off the peninsula to US-131 and run south to Kalkaska. Either line is about 30 minutes.

The whole thing is a peninsula exit headed south into Kalkaska country. Northern Michigan roads stay well-maintained and the traffic is light.

Route 3: From Torch Lake Area (15 Minutes)

Torch Lake sits northeast of Kalkaska, which makes it one of the closest drives to the store. Run southwest on local roads, or pick up M-88 heading southwest.

From M-88, connect to US-131 toward Kalkaska. About 15 minutes. For Torch Lake folks, this is basically a neighborhood run.

Route 4: From Grayling (30 Minutes)

Grayling sits south of Kalkaska, so you are aiming north. Take I-75 north from Grayling toward Grayling Road/M-93, then pick up US-131 north toward Kalkaska.

Or run US-127 north from Grayling toward Kalkaska. Either way it is a straightforward 30 minutes with light traffic. These are rural routes, so highway congestion is not in the picture.

Route 5: From Cadillac (35 Minutes)

Cadillac sits west of Kalkaska. Head east on M-115, north on M-37 to US-131, then south on US-131 toward Kalkaska.

About 35 minutes. The roads are rural and well-kept, and the scenery is classic Northern Michigan the whole way down.

Winter Driving in Northern Michigan

Read this part. Northern Michigan winter means business: snow, ice, and cold from November through March. Roads get treated, but treated is not the same as tame.

Driving here in winter, pad the clock. A 25-minute summer run can stretch to 40 in heavy snow. Match your speed to the conditions. US-131 is a main route and gets snow-removal priority, which still does not make it a place to push it.

Check the forecast before you roll. If it is ugly out, wait it out, or ask the store about online ordering and pickup.

And the dark comes early Up North. Coming from Grayling or Cadillac in winter, aim to arrive before sunset. Late-afternoon and evening drives get trickier as the light drops.

Northland Plaza Parking & Convenience

Parking is easy. Pull into Northland Plaza, grab a customer spot, walk in. No circling, no hunting, plenty of room even on a busy day.

Being in the plaza also means you can knock out other errands while you are here. Other shops sit close by, so make it a full trip if you want.

Dutchie Online Ordering

Pre-order through Dutchie before you leave: browse the menu, place the order, pick it up when you get there. Cuts your in-store time to a few minutes.

Supplies & Preparation

Bring valid ID: driver's license, passport, or state ID. You must be 21+. Have cash or card ready.

Packing a cooler or insulated bag pays off on the longer drives back, say from Grayling or Cadillac. Stable temperatures keep your cannabis at its best on the road.

Need food? Kalkaska has a handful of local spots and cafes. It is a small town, so the list is shorter than the bigger Michigan cities, but you will eat well.

Never Drive Impaired

Never drive under the influence of cannabis. Operating a vehicle while impaired is illegal and dangerous. That goes double Up North, where conditions get challenging and the rural routes run quiet. Save the consumption for after you are home. Every drive to and from the store stays completely sober.

Age Disclaimer

You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume cannabis in Michigan. Possession under 21 is illegal. Always carry valid identification.

Kalkaska as Your Northern Hub

Kalkaska sits in the middle of it all, which makes it the obvious pick for Northern Michigan shoppers. Traverse City, Grayling, Torch Lake, the surrounding country: every drive is manageable. Summer, it is quick and scenic. Winter, you pad the clock and drive smart, but the door is still open.

Olswell Kalkaska is your steady source for good weed no matter the season, passing through or planted here Up North.
