Store Location on Front Street
728 E Front St, Traverse City, MI 49686. This is downtown TC and the spot is prime. You are on Front Street with the bay in frame, the store visible from the road, signed, and easy to find.
Downtown parking gets tight in peak summer, but there are several lots nearby, and we cover those below. The entrance is marked clearly and the interior is modern and built to shop fast.
Route 1: From Sleeping Bear Dunes (30 Minutes)
Sleeping Bear sits west of TC, so you are heading east. From the dunes area, take M-72 east toward M-37, then let M-37 curve north toward Traverse City. Coming in from the south, follow M-37 as it turns into downtown streets.
Watch for signs toward downtown or Front Street. Your target is 728 E Front St, right on the waterfront. Follow parking signs or let GPS handle the last move into the lot.
Roughly 30 minutes from the heart of Sleeping Bear, through Michigan farmland and forest. This one earns a slow, easy pace.
Route 2: From Suttons Bay (20 Minutes)
Suttons Bay is up on the Leelanau Peninsula, northeast of TC. Take M-37 south toward Traverse City and let it carry you all the way down into downtown and Front Street.
About 20 minutes, quick and clean. M-37 is the direct line into TC off the peninsula.
Route 3: From Interlochen (20 Minutes)
Interlochen is south of TC. Head north on M-37, the main north-south corridor through here, straight toward downtown Traverse City.
As you close in, M-37 turns into local streets leading downtown. Follow Front Street signs or lean on GPS. About 20 minutes.
Route 4: From Petoskey (60 Minutes)
Petoskey sits northeast of TC. Take US-131 south toward Traverse City, a pretty drive with little traffic and nothing tricky to navigate.
US-131 brings you into the TC area from the north. Once you are downtown, watch for Front Street signage or let GPS find 728 E Front St.
About 60 minutes, scenic Northern Michigan the whole way, and usually light on traffic.
Route 5: From Leland (30 Minutes)
Leland sits northwest of TC on the Leelanau Peninsula. Take M-22 south and east toward Traverse City. M-22 winds through some of the best terrain in the state: forest, vineyards, and overlooks worth the glance.
As M-22 comes into TC from the west, it hooks into downtown streets. Follow Front Street signs or let GPS finish it.
About 30 minutes. M-22 is one of the most scenic drives in Michigan, so even on a simple shopping run, the trip itself is the bonus.
Downtown Parking for Tourists & Locals
Pay attention here if you are coming in summer. Downtown TC packs out and parking gets tight from June through August.
Your options:
- Street parking on and around Front Street (limited, often full in peak season)
- Municipal lots near downtown (several within walking distance)
- Lots behind or beside the retail buildings on Front Street
- Off-street lots a little outside downtown (cheaper, easier to land a spot)
GPS will surface open parking. Off-peak, meaning early morning or late evening, street parking comes easier. Mid-day in summer, plan on a municipal or pay lot.
Olswell sits right on Front Street with dedicated customer parking nearby, and GPS will point you to the lot. One local trick: a free lot a block away is often there for the taking if you do not mind the extra minute on foot.
Festival Season & Traffic Considerations
TC runs major events all year: the Wine Festival and Cherry Festival in summer, music festivals, and plenty more. When one is on, downtown traffic swells and parking turns into a contest.
Rolling in on a festival weekend, expect a slower crawl into downtown and stiffer competition for spots. Pad your time and lean early-day or evening if you can.
Shoulder seasons in spring, fall, and winter are far calmer on both traffic and parking. If crowds are not your thing, those are the windows to hit the TC store.
First-Time Gift & Weekly Deals
First visit gets you a free gift that grows with your spend: a Play 1.2g infused pre-roll at $25, Play 200mg gummies at $50, a Play 1g rosin infused cart at $75, and Play 3.5g flower at $100. No substitutions, restrictions apply. Bring valid ID and tell the team it is your first time. Check Traverse City deals to see what is running.
Weekly deals run all week: Night Owl 20% off Monday 5 to 9 PM, buy 3 get 1 free pre-rolls Tuesday, double loyalty points Wednesday 5 to 9 PM, Early Owl 20% off Thursday 9 AM to 1 PM, and double loyalty points Friday 9 AM to 2 PM. An evening run like the Monday Night Owl is the smart play, and downtown TC quiets down once the day-trippers clear out.
Product Selection & Dutchie Ordering
The shelves carry RKIVE Reserve, Play, and The Limit. RKIVE Reserve is the in-house solventless hash rosin from our Adrian lab, with full lab results on every batch for potency, cannabinoid profile, and purity. Play is the colorful, fun one. The Limit is loud value, bulk and deals.
Pre-order through Dutchie before you leave: browse the menu, place the order, grab it on arrival. Less time inside, and your pick is locked in.
Downtown Atmosphere
This is the magic of the TC store. You are on Front Street with Grand Traverse Bay right there, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, shops, and galleries. It is a real destination, not just a quick run.
Come early, walk downtown, grab lunch or coffee, then swing by Olswell. Or shop first and wander after. Either order is a good afternoon.
Supplies & Preparation
Bring valid ID: driver's license, passport, or state ID. You must be 21+. Have cash or card ready.
Pack a cooler or insulated bag for the longer drives back, like from Petoskey. Stable temperatures keep your cannabis at its best on the road.
Downtown TC stacks restaurants, cafes, and shops within walking distance, so this slots into a full outing instead of a quick in-and-out.
Never Drive Impaired
Never drive under the influence of cannabis. Operating a vehicle while impaired is illegal and dangerous. The roads in and out of TC, especially US-131, M-37, and M-72, wind enough to demand full attention. Save the consumption for after you are home. Every drive stays completely sober.
Age Disclaimer
You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume cannabis in Michigan. Possession under 21 is illegal. Always carry valid identification.
Why the Traverse City Location Works
Front Street puts you at the center of Northern Michigan's tourism and recreation country, close to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Interlochen, the Leelanau Peninsula, and Petoskey. Local or visiting, the drive is manageable.
And the spot itself is a stunner. Shopping downtown with bay views does not feel like another dispensary errand. It feels like part of the trip.
