Route 1: From Holland (30 Minutes)
Coming off the lakeshore from Holland, take US-31 north toward Grand Rapids, pick up I-196 inland, then slide onto I-96 eastbound.
Exit toward 28th Street Southeast and follow it south about a mile. Olswell is right on the corridor. Figure 30 minutes from Holland proper, maybe 40 from the lakeshore communities.
This is the cleanest west-to-east run into Grand Rapids. I-196 and I-96 stay well-maintained, traffic runs moderate, and that last stretch on 28th Street is about as simple as driving gets.
Route 2: From Muskegon (45 Minutes)
From Muskegon or the northern lakeshore, head south on US-31 to M-120 or connect straight to I-96. Either path, the goal is I-96 eastbound toward Grand Rapids.
Take I-96 east into the city, then run the same play: onto 28th Street Southeast and follow it south. Olswell is visible from the road.
Call it 45 minutes from downtown Muskegon, a little more depending on where you start. I-96 is a main corridor and the traffic flow is usually kind.
Route 3: From Lansing (65 Minutes)
Lansing to Grand Rapids is a straight shot west, a well-traveled and easy run.
Head west on I-94 from Lansing toward Kalamazoo and keep going. West of Kalamazoo, I-94 merges with I-96. Stay on I-96 as it bends north toward Grand Rapids.
Exit toward 28th Street Southeast and you are on the retail corridor. Follow 28th Street to Olswell.
About 65 minutes door to door. I-94 and I-96 traffic thickens around rush hour, especially near Kalamazoo, so aim off-peak if you can.
Route 4: From Kalamazoo (50 Minutes)
Kalamazoo is the Lansing route minus the first leg, so it is even simpler.
Take I-94 north out of Kalamazoo toward Grand Rapids. As you near the city, I-94 merges with I-96. Follow I-96 as it curves northeast.
Exit toward 28th Street Southeast. You are close now. Follow 28th Street to Olswell.
Roughly 50 minutes from downtown Kalamazoo. Traffic swings with the clock, but this one stays smooth.

28th Street Southeast runs shops, restaurants, and storefronts the whole way, and Olswell sits right in the mix. The road is well-lit, well-maintained, and active enough to feel easy and safe to navigate.
Parking is no project. Pull into the lot, park near the entrance, walk in. Customer spots are marked and open, and there are plenty of them even on the busier days.
Traffic & Timing
Grand Rapids traffic stays moderate next to Detroit or the bigger metros. Rush hours run 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM. Driving those windows, add 10 to 15 minutes to any estimate.
Mid-morning from 10 to noon and mid-afternoon from 2 to 4 are your smoothest stretches. After 6:30 PM is good too.
Winter on these routes is manageable. I-94, I-96, and I-196 are main corridors and get plowed fast. Heavy snow or ice still earns extra time.
