What are terpenes?

What is the entourage effect?

The entourage effect is the idea that cannabinoids like THC and CBD and terpenes work together, so the whole plant feels different from one isolated compound. Here is how people use it in practice. Picture two flowers with the same THC percentage. One is high in myrcene and linalool, and people tend to describe it as calm and body-focused. The other is high in limonene and pinene, and people tend to describe it as brighter and more alert. Same THC number, different reported experience. How to read a terpene profile

A terpene profile lists the main terpenes in a batch, usually with percentages. Some labels print it, some link to it with a QR code, and the budtender can often tell you what is available.

1. Find the top terpenes. The first three to five usually set the character, and the highest one leads.
2. Look at the combination. Myrcene with linalool reads differently than myrcene with limonene.
3. Start from the aroma you like. If a jar smells good to you, the profile usually explains why.
4. Keep notes. Write down the profile next to how you felt. After a few purchases you will see which terpenes you like.
