Which store fits your trip?

Olswell Kalkaska is in Northland Plaza. It suits Torch Lake vacations (Alden, on the lake, is about 13.5 miles by road), winter snowmobiling, fishing and outdoor trips. The town is smaller than Traverse City. See the Olswell Kalkaska store page and the Kalkaska live menu.

Olswell Traverse City is on East Front Street downtown, near restaurants, galleries and shops. It suits Leelanau Peninsula and Old Mission wine-country trips, beach days, food-focused weekends and festival visits. How ordering and pickup work

Order on the store's live menu and pick up in store. You pay cash at pickup. Orders are held until the end of the business day, so you can order in the morning and stop by after a day on the water or the trail. Olswell does not deliver. Each store has its own menu and inventory, which rotates, so order from the store where you will pick up and check the live menu for what is in stock. The in-store pickup page has the details.

First-time customers get 25% off their first visit. Happy Hour takes 20% off the whole shop at both Kalkaska and Traverse City on Monday 5-9 PM and Thursday 9AM-1PM. Weekly deals change, so check the live menu or the store page.

What Olswell carries

Menus at both stores are organized into flower, pre-rolls, vaporizers, edibles and concentrates, and the live menu shows what is in stock. Olswell's house brands, grown and processed by Olswell in Michigan, are:

Michigan requires products sold at licensed stores to be lab tested, and labels show potency so you can choose a product that matches your experience. Rules visitors should know

• Private property only. Michigan does not authorize public consumption: parks, beaches, downtown streets, trails and scenic overlooks are all out.
• Check your lodging. Many hotels and resorts prohibit it, and vacation rentals vary. Confirm before you buy.
• No federal land. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a National Park Service site, so cannabis is not allowed there. See the Sleeping Bear Dunes guide.
• Never drive after using cannabis, and never use it in a vehicle, on a boat or on a snowmobile.
• Michigan only. Cannabis must not cross state lines.
• Limits. A single purchase is capped at 2.5 ounces, with no more than 15 grams of that as concentrate. Adult-use purchases carry a 10% excise tax plus 6% sales tax.
• Stay licensed. Buy from licensed stores. Unlicensed sources skip state testing.

Best times to visit

• Summer (June to August): peak season and busiest stores, especially in Traverse City.
• Fall (September to October): milder weather and fewer crowds.
• Winter (November to February): quieter in tourist areas, with snowmobile traffic around Kalkaska.
• Spring (March to May): variable weather, and some attractions have shorter hours.
