Driving from Toledo to Olswell Adrian: Route Guide

The route

Take I-475 and then US-223 west from the Toledo area into Michigan, and follow it toward Adrian. Put the store address in your GPS and your app will guide you through the final turns onto Beecher Road. The Olswell Adrian store page has hours and directions.

Starting point changes the number. From Sylvania the drive is about 25 miles on US-223 and Memorial Highway. Maumee and Perrysburg are about the same distance as downtown Toledo, roughly 38 to 40 miles. These are road miles, so check your navigation app for the live drive time. In ice, snow or heavy rain, allow extra time.

What happens at the state line

Nothing, as far as the road goes. There is no staffed checkpoint between Ohio and Michigan, and you just drive across. The rule is what matters. Cannabis must not cross state lines, even between two states where it is legal, because federal law bars carrying it across. That includes the drive back to Ohio.

So buy with a plan. Only buy what you will use in Michigan, on private property such as a hotel or rental that allows it. If that is not realistic for a day trip, it is better to skip buying than to carry it home. The Ohio and Michigan border guide covers the rules in more detail.

Order ahead, then pick up

Order on the Adrian live menu and pick up in store. You pay cash at pickup. Orders are held until the end of the business day, so a morning order still works if you arrive in the afternoon. Inventory rotates, so check the live menu for what is in stock before you drive. Olswell does not deliver.

What to bring

• A valid government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older. Ohio licenses are fine.
• Cash. Olswell is cash only, with an ATM on-site.
• If it is your first visit, tell the counter. First-time customers get 25% off their first visit.

Adrian's Happy Hour takes 20% off the whole shop on Friday 8AM-2PM and Sunday 8AM-12PM. Weekly deals change, so check the live menu. Michigan adult-use purchases also carry a 10% excise tax plus 6% sales tax.
